Earlier in the month, Bryce Harper easily passed his GED and has enrolled College of Southern Nevada to start his collegiate ball. After one season Harper will become eligible for the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft where he is expected to be a top pick. Story here..

On the CSN athletics website, Harper is listed at 6′3, 205 lbs and is slotted in as a catcher/infielder. Speculation is that the Washington Nationals signing of Pudge Rodriguez is an indication that they plan on selecting Harper with the first pick. While Pudge is still a serviceable major league catcher and an upgrade from what they had, expectations are that he will serve as a mentor to Harper in his first couple seasons.
